Riesling is one of the Canberra District icons. We believe Canberra does and will continue to produce some of the best examples of Riesling in Australia. Its continental cool climate is perfectly suited to growing lively and beautifully poised Riesling.
Tasting Notes
Subtle lemon and floral aromas, followed by a mineral palate and a bright natural acidity with phenolic structure and depth from fermentation in oak. The finish is long and crisp.
Winemaking Notes
Picked then destemmed and lightly crushed before pressing. The free run juice was separated from the pressing. Cold settled for 72 hours then racked from gross lees and fermented at 15°c with a selected aromatic yeast in stainless tanks , Stockinger foudre and older French barriques. The wine was left on lees for 6 months before fining, cold stabilisation, filtration and bottling in November 2023.

Our Long Road Chardonnay is a blend of Hilltops, Orange and Tumbarumba fruit from vineyards situated 650m to 850m ASL.
Tasting Notes
Lifted nose, showing white peach, lemon and brioche aromas. The palate is fruity with fresh lemon flavours and a minerality. The finish is long and crisp due to a high in natural acid. It is a "Chablis" style Chardonnay.
Winemaking Notes
De-stemmed and lightly crushed, the grapes are pressed into a selection of 5 year old French oak barriques and puncheons. The alcoholic fermentation was carried out with a selected yeast followed by a partial malolactic fermentation. This wine was then aged for 6 months in barrels on full lees. It was then fined, cold stabilised, and sterile filtered before bottling in November 2023.

We made this wine for fun from Chardonnay grapes grown at our Cullarin Estate vineyard, located at Lake George. Cullarin is the oldest Canberra District vineyard, established by Dr Edgar Riek in 1971. The vineyard sits at the base of the Cullerin mountain range 750 ASL.
Tasting Notes
This wine has citrus aromas and flavours followed by an intense mineral palate, complex polyphenols that provides structure to the wine. The finish is long and crispt.
Winemaking Notes
The grapes were hand-picked, de-stemmed then fermented on skin. So, this is an "orange wine", with a medium yellow colour. At the end of the alcoholic fermentation, it was pressed into older French oak barriques then aged on fine lees for 6 months, before fining, cold stabilisation, filtration and bottling in November 2023.

The grapes were all de-stemmed and fermented whole berries in an open fermenter then lightly pressed at the end of fermentation directly into 10% new and 90% old French oak barriques. The wine was matured in oak until filtration and bottling in July 2023. No fining.

The Montrachet clone of Chardonnay planted at Cullarin by Dr Edgar Riek in 1971 is very rare in Australia.
Tasting Notes
Pale yellow colour with green hues. Vibrant lemon aromas in harmony with the minerals, and the subdued brioche notes from the French oak barrel fermentation and maturation on full yeast lees. The palate is mineral, crisp, and long due to a perfect natural acidity.
Winemaking Notes
The winemaking is kept rather simple to express the cool climate and granitic soil origins of the Montrachet clone.
After careful selection, the fruit was handpicked, pressed directly to French oak barriques (5% new) for an alcoholic fermentation with a selected yeast. 20% of malolactic fermentation occurred. The wine was then matured on full lees in oak for 8 months and stirred monthly. Filtration then bottling occurred in December 2022.

The Pinot Noir clones are unknown and include 10% Pinot Meunier, planted at Cullarin by Dr Edgar Riek in 1971.
Tasting Notes
Light red with bright red hues. This wine is youthful and vibrant with intense aromas and flavours of bright red fruit and spice. A medium bodied structure with soft tannins, medium length, and persistent natural acidity.
Winemaking Notes
75% of the grapes were lightly crushed and 25% left whole bunch in a 3 tonne open fermenter. Plunging occurred twice a day during the alcoholic fermentation. The wine was then aged in older French oak barriques for 8 months. No fining nor filtration occurred before bottling in December 2022.

The wine that put Eden Road on “the map” winning the 2009 Jimmy Watson Trophy. 55% of the grapes are from Tumblong Estate vineyard located in the Gundagai region, and 45% from our Cullarin vineyard located at Lake George.
Tasting Notes
Dark red colour with purple hues. Subtle dark cherry, black olive, blackberry and black pepper aromas and flavours. The palate is complex with a savoury and long finish. The tannins are velvety.
Winemaking Notes
All the grapes were de-stemmed and fermented as whole berries. The grapes were pumped over twice a day during fermentation and lightly pressed at the end of fermentation directly to 1-3 year old French puncheons and aged for a period of 8 months. Barrels were racked and the wine filtered before bottle. No fining.

The malbec grapes are from our Cullarin vineyard, located at Lake George. The vineyard is planted at 720m ASL.
Vintage
Spring was very wet, after 3 years of drought. Summer was relatively wet, but by March, the weather conditions eased and the Malbec grapes finally fully ripened and were harvested on 16th April.
Tasting Notes
Medium red colour with purple hues. Violet, black pepper aromas followed by raspberry flavours. The palate is delicate with raspberry notes, smooth tannins, and a perfect natural acidity. The finish is long and savoury.
Winemaking Notes
The grapes were all de-stemmed and fermented in open fermenters then lightly pressed at the end of fermentation directly to older French barriques. The wine was matured for a period of 8 months.

Pale yellow colour with green hues.
Stonefruit, brioche and butterscotch aromas in harmony with vanilla and butterscotch notes from French new oak puncheons (25%). The palate is concentrated, mineral, creamy and long due to a perfect natural acidity.
Winemaking Notes
The winemaking is kept rather simple in order to express the high country and granitic soil origins of the fruit.
After careful selection the fruit was handpicked, pressed directly to French oak barriques for an alcoholic fermentation with a selected yeast. 40% malolactic fermentation occurred. The wine was then matured on full lees in oak, for 8 months and stirred on a monthly basis.

Pinot Gris is a pink coloured variety and is typically made into a white wine. We allow 25% skin contact to encourage some colour but more importantly some texture from phenolics in our Pinot Gris.
Tasting Notes
The nose has distinctive honeysuckle aromas, Pronounced flavours of apricot dominate the palate. The richness of the palate is balanced by a natural acidity mineral notes on the finish, producing a refreshing and moreish wine.
Winemaking Notes
The grapes are sourced from Orange, Mudgee and Canowindra. 25% of the blend was on skin contact at 5°c for a period of 5 days with the balance pressed, settled and fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine was left on lees for 5 months before fining, cold stabilisation, sterile filitration and bottling in September 2022.

Winemaking Notes
The grapes were hand-picked first week of April, fully destemmed with a high proportion of whole berries and fermented in stainless steel tanks with a selected yeast to dryness. The wine was then put into 1 to 3 year old French Oak Barriques to undergo the malolactic fermentation and aged for 16 months. The wine was sterile filtered before bottling. No fining.
