2021 The Long Road Pinot Noir
The grapes are sourced from Maragle, Courabyra and Mannus vineyards located in the Tumbarumba region, ranging from 430 m ASL to 805 m ASL. Also, a small batch is sourced from the Poachers vineyard in the Canberra District. All grown on decomposed volcanic soils with basalt.
Lovely vibrant cherry and spicy aromas and flavours lead onto a bright crunchy medium bodied structure with lovely silky tannins and length.
25% whole bunches are included in the de-stemmed ferment. The alcoholic fermentation was carried out in open fermenters. Following fermentation, the grapes were lightly pressed directly to 1 to 3 year old French puncheons and barriques. The wine was matured for 8 months in French oak, racked and gently filtered to bottle.
