Eden Road is a boutique wine company creating some of the most exciting contemporary wines from the ancient soils of the Australian high country. Our relentless and passionate search for exceptional terroir ensures the creation of unique, authentic wines.

Few wine companies as young or as small as Eden Road have won as many prestigious awards. We believe that our dedication to searching for great terroir, coupled with our desire and devotion to unlocking the potential and uniqueness in our wines has produced our success.

Our logo depicts the Road to Eden as a line which passes between two circles representing the Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge. Everyone has their own road to Eden--ours is the creation of great Australian wine. 

The Jimmy Watson

Since its very first Vintage when it won the Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy, The Long Road Shiraz has quickly become one of the most storied and eagerly sought-after Shiraz wines.

Part of the intrigue of The Long Road Shiraz stems from the fact that it was born to express the new and exciting wine regions around the high country of NSW, as an elegant and contemporary style of Shiraz. The style has evolved since 2008, when exploring the high country of NSW predominantly involved Canberra and the Hilltops region. It has now extended to include the hidden jewel of the Gundagai region as a thriving source for Long Road Shiraz.

The Long Road Shiraz continues to fascinate wine show judges and wine critics, winning three trophies at the Canberra regional wine show for Best Shiraz, Best Red Wine, and best wine of the show.The Long Road Shiraz then went on to win Australia’s most sought after trophy, the Jimmy Watson memorial trophy at the Melbourne Wine Show.  As recently as November 2012, The Long Road Shiraz won the Trophy for Best Shiraz at the National Show.

Nick Spencer

Nick is the Winemaker at Eden Road Wines, heading an experienced wine making and cellar team. He has taken a unique path in discovering his passion for winemaking.

Nick's journey began after an intimate tasting with Jean Charles Boisette at Domaine de La Vougeraie. His experience in the wine industry has included roles at Rosemount, Coldstream Hills and Madew.

From there he moved to Bordeaux for four years where he assumed the position of winemaker and consultant for various wineries in Eastern Europe. 

Nick enjoys leading his team out onto the boundaries of new and old world winemaking practices, always keeping in mind the ultimate enjoyment of the wine drinker.

Brigitte Rodda
Assistant Winemaker

After completing her Bachelor of Winemaking and Oenology, Brigitte worked with Craggy Range (NZ), Mumm Napa (California) and most recently with Willow Bridge Estate in Western Australia

She cites the late Simon Burnell for greatly influencing her during her time in WA. “When the fruit arrives at 100%, it’s about not losing too many of the one percents in the winemaking process.”

Brigitte’s passion for winemaking stems from the science of creating something people can enjoy and truly showcasing the regionality within a wine.
