
2018 The Long Road Pinot Gris
Tasting Notes
Pinot Gris is a pink coloured variety and is typically made into a white wine. We allow a small amount of skin contact (20%) to encourage some colour but more importantly some texture from phenolics in our Pinot Gris.
Partridge eye colour, floral and pear aromas lead onto a vibrant, fresh, youthful palate with lovely texture, acidity and length.
Winemaking Notes
Approximately 20% of the blend was fermented on skins for a period of 7 days with the balance being pressed lightly, settled and fermented in stainless steel with a selected aromatic yeast. The wine was left on fine lees for 4 months before fining, cold stabilisation, sterile filtration and bottling in August 2018.
