2019 Canberra Riesling
Riesling is one of the Canberra District icons. We believe Canberra does and will continue to produce some of the best examples of Riesling in Australia. Its continental climate is perfectly suited to growing lively and beautifully poised Riesling.
A medium bodied Riesling, the palate displays intense lime and lychee flavours supported by bright acidity and a long, mineral finish. 17% of fermentation occurred in older French oak barriques.
Hand-picked, then destemmed and lightly crushed before pressing. The free run juice was separated from the pressed juice. Cold settled for 72 hours and then racked from gross lees and cold fermented in stainless steel tanks and older French oak with a selected aromatic yeast. The wine was then left on fine lees for 5 months before fining, cold stabilisation, sterile filtration and bottling in October 2019.
