The grapes are grown at our Cullarin Estate vineyard, located at Lake George. Cullarin is the oldest Canberra District vineyard, established by Dr Edgar Riek in 1971. The vineyard sits at the base of the Cullarin mountain range 750M ASL.
RED WINES
Tasting Notes
Light red with bright red hues. This wine has lovely youthful and vibrant cherry and spicy aromas and flavours, leading to a bright medium bodied structure with silky tannins, medium length, and persistent natural acidity.
Winemaking Notes
80% of the grapes were lightly crushed and 20% left whole bunch in a 3 tonne open fermenter. Plunging occurred three times a day during the alcoholic fermentation. The wine was them aged in new and older French oak barriques and puncheons for 10 months. No fining. Sterile filtration occurred before bottling in December 2024.
