Tasting Notes
Light red with bright red hues.
This wine has lovely youthful and vibrant cherry and spicy aromas and flavours leading to a bright medium bodied structure with silky tannins, medium length, and persistent natural acidity.
Drink : 2023 - 2030
Winemaking Notes
The Pinot Noir clones are unknown and include 10% Pinot Meunier, planted at Cullarin by Dr Edgar Riek in 1971. 90% of the grapes were lightly crushed and 10% left whole bunch in a 3 tonne open fermenter. Plunging occurred twice a day during the alcoholic fermentation. The wine was then aged in older French oak barriques for 8 months. No fining. Sterile filtration occurred before bottling in December 2023.
